Hair Uniondale Theatre reviews
Clapton / Winwood, As Good As it Gets
"I first saw Cream play with Hair at the Fillmore East (formerly the Village Theater) in 1968, right after the release of "Sunshine of your Love". The group was introduced by Bill Graham as they began playing NSU from behind the curtains; when the curtains lifted, my arms and neck hair stood at attention. That night, I actually had the opportunity to chat with Clapton! After witnessing his guitar technique, I was certain he would forever be my favorite rock guitarist. I was fortunate to witness Stevie Winwood perform alongside Clapton in Blind Faith in 1969, and later on his own with Traffic. Despite missing out on seeing Winwood with the Spencer Davis Group, I was a huge fan of his. Attending the Clapton/Winwood Concert was the culmination of everything; it reconnected the past and demonstrated that these two remarkable musicians still possess all the qualities that drew me to them initially. If I could, I'd attend every show on this tour, and I'd never tire of their music. If you were ever a fan of either of them, THIS SHOW IS A MUST. I couldn't stop grinning throughout the whole evening."
